Not trying to sound rude...However, this forum is probably the last place on Earth you will receive an honest valuation of the worth of that motorcycle.

Engine condition?
Frame condition?
Road or race?
What's the reg - does it have any?
Are they Ronals or Campags ir Ronals check for cracks. Check Betors for play and the front frame down tubes at the bottom of the headstock for signs of cracking.
If it's all good £3K would be a fair price for road registered with a good engine to go with the carbs.

Baz, You know the score with race bikes, check everything.
Start low and you can always go up.

Hi Baz,
I purchased some carbs off the guy who owned this a couple of years ago, Alan was his name, it's a proper race bike, 1978 Rickman Metisse, I have a picture somewhere of the bike just before a 2003 lap of honour at thr isle of man - 28 minute lap!!
I'm sure he wanted £6 - 7K

thanks pj, sounds like the same bike, how the hell do you value it though ?
its the same guy who still owns it, right nice bloke, told me all the history behind the bike, even how many times he's dropped it. i've no doult he's spent a fortune on it over the years but that never reflects on its value with a bike like this.
