tyre type

has anybody heard of PROTON tyres ? if so are they any good or death traps 
I won some of those TOMAHAWK tyres in a competition in STREETFIGHTER magazine a few years back.....
I took them to Fast Freddy Furlong (Yeovil bike tyre fitters) and he refused to fit them coz they were sh*te remould.... They make the coloured tyres
