Ummm.... anyone know how the Z1R front master cylinder comes apart?
There's a white(ish) plastic part (No 13 on the parts diagram called a piston liner 14008-1007) that has to come out before one can remove the dust cover and the piston seal gubbins.
Do you have to turn that part? prise it out? get all violent with a large hammer?
TIA

Small screwdriverjust lever it out carfully then you will see how easy the rest follows.

Like Ted says small electricians screwdrive or something of that type carefully between the liner and the top off the housing to release the locating tang and ease it out however having said that if its working and pressurising then dont touch it cos if you bollox up the seals putting it back together the piston is no longer available so its game over its assembled with the seals at source they cant be removed unless somebody can tell me different of course

Thanks Keith - worth knowing the innards are NLA (I should have checked but I kind of assumed it would use the same seal as the other Kawasaki 5/8 cylinders

)
Perhaps I'll revise how I'm dealing with it.
