Fitting Dyna Coils...

I am toying with the idea of fitting Dyna coils to my Z1000, but in my research I found this line on the Z1 Enterprises site.....

For some Kawasaki bikes with a resistor in the circuit (i.e. KZ1000's in the late 70's and early 80's), the 3 ohm coil is the best choice - just remove the ballast resistor from the circuit.

So where would I find said ballast resistor, if I have one fitted?

Between the feed from the ignition switch and the coils but I doubt you have one. They were fitted to Mk2s mainly and I would expect that you have 4 ohm coils.

1979 & 1980 1000's had a 1.5 ohm ballast resistor - these bikes had electronic ignition from the factory.
