Hi all just spent a couple of hours assembing my z power clock kit, does anyone know how the gold u shaped metal bracket with the cut out for the lock is supposed to fit if you fit it as shown in the parts book you cant get it deep enough into the plastic idiot light housing without fear of breaking the housing or be able to fit top fixing nut, tried all the ways i can think of,then looked at my old z1b set and this bracket is not fitted and it seems to function fine? any ideas anyone....Paul J..

Hi Paul. Ive had a few replica sets and found that the bracket that comes with the kit is wrong and you need an original one. Like you, I sat down trying to work it out and then looked at an original clock set and could see the difference. I might have one you can have. I will have a look tomorrow and if I have I will give it to PB on friday.

Paul, I recall, I had a problem with this ignition-switch bracket on a Z1/A/B and thought I had the wrong bracket (possibly off a Z900-A4). However, after fitting the black plastic washer with the semi circular groove to take raised key on the barrel, in under the plastic bezel ring, the bracket fitted.
Mine may have been a different problem, but worth a mention. It took me over an hour to sort!
