Does any one know how to decipher date codes from calipers. Seems not to fit to Showa system. Thanks

John these are on the bottom, piston side. Early two-piece and later kz all had a letter followed a number. Example Y1 this a caliper taken off a known 74.

Usually stamped on the very bottom of the caliper John, But i'm not sure they are date codes though,

My thousand / 900 calipers (I have a small collection) have U, P and Z codes.

Maybe they are more like batch codes than date ?

Batch codes make sense, similar to stampings on tanks. Thanks Guys!
