hi chaps. i have a z9 a4 and it was piped up to a oil cooler which ive taken off and blanked off the inlet/outlets beside the camchain tensioner.
but when i started the bike oil came poring out of the filter housing. the previous owner said there should be a pressure relief valve fitted and that there could be a build up of too much pressure.
can anyone shead any light on this ?
cheers

I'm not an expert on this, but instinct would say that you don't block off or blank off the 2 connections behind the cylinders...I think you need to connect them together.
If you have blocked them off, the pressurised oil would have nowhere to circulate to after the pump and filter, hence maybe the reason it started to escape from somewhere else.
Hope you didn't run it for long ?
why not replace the entire housing behind the cylinders with the correct kawasaki one if you don't want the cooler. The housing with the oil cooler connections might be quite valuable ?
( I'm basing this answer on my knowledge of GS S*z*k*s, but I think the Kwacker system is pretty similar.

Fraid I can't help with your prob but might be interested in taking your old cooler and hoses / fittings off you if it's in decent nick and you're wanting to sell?
Cheers,
Mike

Qwacker9, you have probably blanked off supply to the engine.. mainly top end. You will have to look at another Z1 series, Z900 or Z1000 and take particular notice of the fitting near the chain adjustor. The fitting you blanked off are specifically for an oil cooler
The singular fitting you should replace them with, if you don't want the air cooler, is an alloy casting that has four bolts and has a pressure sensor in the top. This will allow oil to flow and replaces those other fittings.

If the cooler "take-offs" are still in place -
