Just fitted new genuine 1mm over pistons and rings to my Z1B. How long to run them in and in what manner? I have done approx 200 miles with revs limited to 5k without labouring motor, as advised by guy that bored motor, I am concerned that bore glazing can occur if run too gently so waht next?

When should head be re torqued?

As I understand it, the important thing is to keep the revs varied throughout the run-in - the worst thing you could do it sit on the M6 at 65 mph to get the running in over with - that'll glaze her up for sure. This was the advice I was given when running in a brand new Triumph Speed Triple - same applied when running in my rebuilt Suzi GT550 Stroker.
Don't worry though, 1000 miles and it'll all be over!
The Owner's manual for my 75 B says 4000 rpm for first 500 miles then 6000 for the next 500, then you're done.
I reckon you should torque down after the first 200 miles - most of the settlement will have taken place by then.
If you've rebuilt the complete motor, it's sensible to change the oil and filter after 200 miles just to flush out any metallic debris or other crap that's been dislodged.

I have just fitted a 1075 kit, all new cam gear and totally rebuilt the motor.

Head retorqued after initial warm up in garage.

Oil and filter changed after twenty miles.

240 miles on it now and taking it to 7K. All I have done is not labour it, accelerate and decelerate (helped by living in Derbyshire ie you don't have a choice ), not generate too much heat - don't sit in traffic ques and as far as I'm concerned she is run is now.

For you - change oil and filter now, retorque head and ride as normal
