Oil pressure switch connection

Hi Guys Help please.

I've been having trouble connecting the wire to my oil pressure switch. The switch works as does the light. But every time I try to put the connector on the switch it falls off again. Its quite funny really. As the connection is in its rubber boot I've not been able to see whats happening. Today I cut the boot off and tried to use a straight connector. No problem with that except when I push the connector on the exposed male connector it pushes into the switch preventing the contactor from fitting.
Surely this cant be right. Can anyone put me right.

Theres two types one is a push on fit the other is a screw on one, would you be trying to push the wrong one?

Its just the basic nylon pressure switch with the bullet type connector on top. I reckon the securing lug has broken thus allowing the connector to move up and down as if it was sprung loaded. I might just stick it in place. The spring and lift plate on the inside are working fine.

When using a "bullet connector" type oil pressure switch on an after-market boot there is not enough room and the rubber boot will tend to bounce up and ride high on the fitting I have mentioned this in a previous post this week. This aso happens when not using the correct bent female bullet connector on the correct original boot.

Although the after-market boot looks like the later "bullet" type it struggles to accommodate this bullet connector mainly because of the position the wire come into the boot... Bit of a pain in the butt.

See if you can modify the female bullet connector to lower its height..... RegardZ.

There seems to be some confusion here.

With the oil switch removed, gentle pressure on the bullet connector pushes it into the nylon housing. It has nothing to do with the rubber boot or the female connector. Its currently not possible to connect the wire without removing the switch and pysically preventing the bullet from disappeasring into its housing. I think its just knackered.
