Does anyone know if this thing is available from ZPower, or anywhere else, or have any idea of the part number? I can't find it on any of the Kawasaki parts diagrams or on ZPower's site under any of the obvious search terms, or in the PMC catalogue. Surely it must be available.
Failing that anyone have a good one surplus to requorements?

Chris, I had on of these from Z-Power.
Probably easier to call 'em. Their website can be painful, I know!

Chris
PMC item is available via Z-power but the finish has a sheen to it

Thanks for the info guys. I got a cable today from J Browse to make a hybrid alternator cable to fit my mongrel bottom end and the boot on it's toast, so I was going to call ZPower on Monday about this (and other stuff

) but was hoping it was available. As long as it covers the wire I don't care if it's a bit different to the original.
John Browse certainly aren't cheap but they're handy if you're stuck for a part.

I have a pressure switch cover that we use at work. The cable entry is through the top and not at a right angle but if you just want a cover this might do. If you pm me your address I will pop it in the post on Monday.

Hi Mark thanks for the offer I had a look at it but as I've an oil cooler take-off on mine and the switch sits on top of that there's less space beloew the carbs so a vertical entry boot might be too high - I'll try my luck with a side entry one from Zed Power if I have trouble getting one I may well get back to you, as I said I appreciate the offer.
That's what great about this site, helpful for both information and the offer of stuff...

ChrisNI, PMC make a similar one to your photo, however, it is not fitted with that right-anged bullet connector, it has an eyelet for the earlier Z1 series oil pressure switches. These right-angled bullet connectors are hard to find, hence, are usually just a modified straight connector.
I have found the moulded rubbers on these after-market substitutes, sits a bit high on the bullet type switches and are really designed for the screw type switches, albeit, they have that bump in the moulded rubber/ plastic like the later ones.
I would look around for a "gash" Z900/Z1000 alternor cable and rob the rubber off it, before it is thrown away.

This cable is what I had to pay John Browse £25 for as that was what I actually needed I haven't been able to turn one up anywhere else - unfortunately the boot on it is perished. The right angle bullet connector can be re-used though so hopefully it will fit under the repro boot.

ChrisNI, just had a good look at the ones we use at work and found that the cover is rubber and does not have a hole in it and is staged for different diameter cable entries so you cut your own hole. You could cut a small hole in the side for the cable so it would then be right angle and maintain some weather resistance.
Mine is absolutely knackered as well so unless someone comes up with a direct replacement I'm going to have to use one of these as well.
If I get chance tonight I will get a photo on here so you can see for yourself.
