Z1B Needle jets

#1 PostAuthor: Z1B Alan » Wed Nov 04, 2009 7:34 pm

When my carbs have been cleaned I intend to use the refurb kits from NRP which include new needle jets. My question is I believe the needle jets are pressed into position do they press out into the venturi or downwards into the float bowl :?: also just how tight are they and dose anyone have a proven method to remove them. If anyone has a picture of the jets and I believe there is an emulsion tube could they post it as these things are more simple to understand if you know what they look like.
They run, They break , You spend and so it goes on

They should just be a "snug fit" - no need for a 10lb hammer or anyfink
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Hi Alan, they push down into the float bowl, use a shaped piece of hardwood dowel to gently tap them out,as piggy says snug fit,to fit new ones put the jets in the freezer for an hour or so and ensure they go up the tube straight to avoid damage to the jets, couldnt get a decent picture to upload it will be easy to see when your new kits arrive. good luck

To remove them you first remove the main jet holder then press them out from the slide side and into the float chamber. I use a 4.8mm bar, does the trick nicely.
