Brake light

While im waiting for carb repair kits to arrive thought
id do couple little jobs that need doing on the Z like
the stop lamp warning light which stopped working just before
i stripped the carbs, so took the cover off and the bulb
was blackened so put new bulb in it and it still don't work
which is just about right for my Z any ideas anybody why it dont work

Could be the output device which is found under the tank just above the coils.

Sadly no idea how to test it.

Check the contacts on the stop switches are sound, fiddle with them whilst the brakes are applied.

Tap a few things with the blunt end of a screwdriver, that often works for me when I don't understand whats going on.

Tlc is on the right track the device sitting under the tank is the outage relay only way to test is by substitution with a good unit though in the past i have used a 12v relay.This unit is more complex than it seems as if you get a blown stop tail lamp the indicator in the clock flashes!! you dont get this facility if you use a standard relay.They are no longer available as a spare only hope is to get a used unit seen them go for over $60 on US ebay.

I know how to test it..............plug it back in and it works :rir :rir

Thats all it was it just came unplugged :roll:
