Hi fellas, my Z1B has done about 500 miles since i rebuilt it and i've noticed a vibration and noise coming from the the top of the engine at about 3000 rpm once engine is hot. i suspect timing chain needs adjusting. Is adjustment done with the engine hot or cold, the manual doesn't mention engine temperature.

Hi Kwaka,
I have always done mine cold, but I agree with the others this sounds more serious than just cam chain, especially if there is vibration. I have heard a few worn out cam chain motors but not with vibration as well. Alex.

Thanks for that, now you've got me worried. All the timing gear was renewed when the motor was rebuilt, the puzzling thing is that it only does it once the motor is well and truely heated up ie. after riding for a good half hour.
