Next month or so it will be time for the bikes annual clean and possibly polish up the rust a bit too. Does anyone know how to avoid those nasty white chalky marks you get from hard water which sits in between barrel fins and hard to get at places please?
It a J with matt finish casings and top end but it also sits on the gloss cycle parts and coloured parts as well. I can leather the painted stuff and the gloss to an extent but not the tiny tiny places.

Thanks very much guys for taking the time to respond. Not sure about the vinegar but i do use it to de-scale the kettle and the tap ends. Dont want to smell like a fish and chip shop when i go out on it.
Think i better go round to GUYZED's and get him to show me how he gets the shine on his bike. Might even borrow his compressor too!

I think adding a small amount of vinegar to the water will help - google it in case I've gotten it wrong ...
02GF74 got it. The white stuff is lime used to bring the Ph of the water back. A few good suggestions there but rainwater and a drop of vinegar works well. And the time you save not needing to dry the pisser off allows ya to have a wee drop of rum, n scotch n gin n well what ever is left
