Cleaning grime

I use gunk and engine degreaser to get the bulk of the crud off the front be agiating with a long brush then hosing it down. Although this gets rid of the heavy stuff the engine casings remain stained. Anyone got any bright ideas short of Steve Smethursting it?

some good stuff like belgon alu and elbow grease works well .
