Is there anyone around Plymouth who can help with the wiring on my A4. I have fitted a replacement loom and now at the stage of conecting things up, without photo reference - Doh. The problem i'm having is 10amp fuze blowing, headlamp not working and flashers really slow. Tried checking earths etc but now losing my rag - it's got to be something simple? I HATE ELECTRICS

His name is Neil and he is a genius on bike electrics. He is a keen biker and has eight bikes in his shed. I can also guarantee that he wont rip you off or stick to the charges on his website.
There is the obvious issue of the distance although he has a van full of gear and travels all over the place. Or if you have a trailer or van he will repair at his house in Nottingham (maybe the same day)
I had a similar problem with a bike which was in a total mess and he sorted the lot in two hours and charged me £45 including a 50 mile round trip to my house and rewire of all the switchgear !!!!!

Hi Have you got a good colour wiring diagram and trace all the wires to make sure all is where it should be but failing that, a good method for finding shorts is to connect a Halogen Headlamp bulb where the fuse would normally be( Make a couple of flyleads up) and as the lamp is illuminated start to disconnect various wire/connections when the light goes out bingo that is area where the fault is.

Cheers for the help guy's, ok Nottingham's a bit far but i'll remember the name. Spent all day yesterday following your advice Dave and cleaning earth's etc. Finally got the headlamp to work, 10 amp fuze to stop blowing, there was a short there somewhere, but the flashers are still flashing still a bit slow. Next stop replace flasher unit.

I have used a mini flasher unit in the past with great success.
