Hi
I am new just regestered
I have an ltd almost from new bought in 1978, been off the road since2002. Took the covers off the other day connected battery but no response. Havent had time to check fuse or anything else yet. Are parts still availible ? I think the last time I rode it , it was smoking a bit so I guess it might be valve oil seals, can I replace them without lifting the head?

Hi Taynton and welcome to the club.
Parts are available certainly for engine, cycle parts will be harder to find but are out there NOS or secondhand. try Z Power and Z1 Enterprises via links on this forum.
You will have to lift the head to fit new valve stem oils seals, not a big job for anyone reasonably handy with spanners. If its anything like my bike you could be opening pandoras box though! But if you have owned for all that time you will know how its been run/serviced so may not have the miriad of problems that I have encountered.

Good Luck and if you have any queries, post them in Bike Help, someone will always have an answer.

If the bike has been stood for 5 years you'll need a new battery.
Also the carbs will need cleaning if they have had petrol left in them and the same for the petrol tank.
