Vacuum petrol tap - main/reserve inlet question.

Hi guys.
Having ran out of petrol I decided it was a good opportunity to take the tap off, check tank for crud etc.
I was surprised to see the tap di not have any brass pipes attached to the internal. I remember they should have at least one higher than than the other inlet for the reserve function.
Assuming my memory/logic is correct, can you get the pipe from anywhere or is it a new tap from Z-power??
Many thanks
Colin

if its an z1000a2 vac pipe with the bolts, it should have a plastic filter about 2 inches high on it, not the brass pipes

Thanks BunnysZ.
Should have said the tap is from a 78 B2 650. Having said that I think all the taps of that era were the same so should be OK. If it's any help the part number for tap is 51023.
Much appreciate your offer.
Cheers

Yep indeedy, should have a tall plastic pipe assembly with an oval shape which fits tightly into the tap, it consists of two plastic pipes, (tall and short) inside an oval plastic frame with fine mesh to filter crud, the tall (main or on) goes to the centre hole the short one (res) to the offcentre.
Check your tank, it's not uncommon for them to work loose and be rattling about inside there, I had the same happen to a ZZR250 I had some years ago.
If not I think you can buy the filter on it's own?

Thanks m1ks.
Yes it has the oval plastic filter but no tubes inside it?
Are you saying the pipes are part of the filter assembly?
Any ideas where you can purchase the bits?
Many thanks
