Went to go out on the Z today and another problem pops up, flat battery used it other day and it was fine, so put it on charge put it back in the bike turned the key pressed start button drained the battery straight away as does the bake light as well, getting to the point where the fun of a Z is fading fast.

Mikey, that's a bummer, we don't get that many dry days anyway at the moment. I find bike batteries are really crappy, even the expensive ones.
A few weeks ago I decided to sell my little Hornet to raise some money to put towards a new Zed. I hadn't used it for nearly a year so I put a new battery on only to find the alarm had 'spiked' with no way of turning the damned thing off. The Datatool website had some de-spiking instructions which I followed but it didn't work. So with my eardrums almost exploding I decided to take the alarm off completely which entailed taking half the bike apart. Didn't manage it in the end, became so frustrated that I just left it in a pile of bits in the garage. I guess that's the downside to this biking malarky!!
Anyway, hope you get it sorted!

Mikey you already have my number.
Is it possible that something was damaged in the accident? crushed wire against the frame, crack in a component, short somewhere, bad earth or something off the beaten track.
luckily for me Mikey can`t spell and mistakes me for zorded!
Pretty sure i'm working up to a self diagnosis of tourettes syndrome.
What I say; hello, how ya doing, not spoken for a while, good to see you again you look younger.
What they hear; what you looking at pal, something in your eye, you want some or what, you better be tooled up mate, hope you catch swine flu etc etc etc.
Thanks for the offer of help Zeroed but i'm f*7king it all up very nicely on my own thanks.

Well i think i sorted it swapped the batteries with the one in me GS then the main fuse blew

so i remember mick had a wiring prob and it was a wire in the handlebar switches so had a look in there and there was a bare wire so taped that up and all seems hunky dory now......................till the next problem rears its head.

It's part of the fun Mikey, Just get a new bike as well for when your baby lets you down... These problems are small... It's us that are lacking in knowledge...... not that that makes you feel any better when your head and foot is still sore from nutting and kicking the garage wall...
I bet it's raining now it's sorted
