Hi All, hoping someone might be able to help. Problem is number 3 carb on my Z1000A1 leaks a small amount of fuel when left standing overnight. i have had the carbs off cleaned and replaced seats and valves with new. Also adjusted float hieghts but no luck! The bike is left on the side stand and the fuel tap is off, although i have noticed that the tap weeps slightly in the off position. (Got new tap on order from Zpower) Bike seems to run well other than that. Had lots of advice and had a go at all thats been suggested. Don't know what else i can do. Is it just a case of getting the correct float hieght right ??

Would very much appriciate some help from anyone out there.

PS. Bike is fitted with standard Mikuni carbs.

bowl gaskets and screw all renewed. The fuel is coming out of the overflow pipe.

might be an idea to fit a couple of inline fuel filters in case muck is coming through from the tank.

The tiniest piece of crud will hold a float valve open.

When on the side stand, the fuel can flow from the other carbs... # 2, 3 & 4 and overflow #1  So best put summink under the s/stand to make bike 'nearly' level....

my first z (a1) was always leaking fuel from no.1 carb(only had side stand), stripped them down but no difference. On one bike stopped problem fitting a bulky fuel filter, not ideal but worked.

take off offending carb bowl and hold fill with fuel to top and see if it still leaks if it does then the overflow pipe will have a small crack in it
