Wheel Rebuild

I am going to get my old wheels re-spoked and fitted with new rims as soon as I can afford it, I was wondering if it was possible to have slightly wider rims to fit better tyres but keeping the stock swinging arm and forks in place. I don't think it is possible but I am hoping someone may know better.

Thanks

Guyzed had his done, maybe speak to him. His are larger than stock without looking silly.

Personally I don`t like `em too big on a Zed but to each his own. I think you need to do something with the swingarm though and maybe the mudguard fixing ?

Thanks Chris, I really didn't want to do anything to the front or back but it looks impossible to fit anything wider than standard without messing about too much. I will probably just stick with the standard sizes. I wasn't going to do the old wheels but I have decided I don't like the look of the Lester mags that I fitted. I will sell them to put towards the wheel rebuild.

Thanks GUYZED, that combination looks very good. I thought your back wheel was wider than that when I saw the swingarm. I have been looking at the Central Wheel Company on the internet as an option, where did you have yours done and can you remember the price you paid.

Thanks, when I saw them I was pretty sure that the rear wheel would have caught on the standard swingarm, Very nice wheels though. I'll ring you tomorrow evening to arrange a time this weekend.

I got the rims and spokes from Hagons - about £370ish but that was two years ago.
A friend of mine built them for me.

If you buy the rims and spokes and take them to a push bike shop they should be able to build them for you - much cheeper.

My local Benelli/MV dealer used to do wheel rebuilds, he is an old mate of mine I will have to have a word with him.
