block thread gone

while im putting a new gasket in, i think i will helicoil this thread. the cover is held down with 16 bollts, the rear outside one has been drilled out through the head, a bolt goes through and a nut goes on the end. i believe this can be done in situ, with the tank off, AM I RIGHT GUYS :? its the left hand outside rear thread on the head. the relay guy said it can be done in situ.

No problem in doing that , if you don,t have an M6 Helicoil set I can lend you one with the appropriate Helicoil if you want.

Mick, just be careful you don't get swarf in & around the cam buckets etc.

great, so it can be done guys. thanks for the offer of the set Steve, but i think i will get someone to do it, im happier fixing houses these days.

Glad to hear you meant cam cover gasket.

I can send you the M6 Helicoil kit along with the 6,3mm drill bit,it comes with full instructions and really is a piece of piss to fit,simple.
