can anybody advise on this please?

my 1100R indicators were too slow and bike failed mot, i obviously thought of the flasher unit, fitted a new one and they worked perfectly until i started the engine, and within a few seconds they stopped working totally;

switch off engine, away they go, start engine, they stop, im a bit bemused, and hopeless with electrics, so any help appreciated;

thanks

dave

ps it passed mot today 'cos tester just needed to see them working

Sometimes that can happen if your alternator output is low and while the engine is off they will work off the battery, when it's running all the juice is going to the ignition. Is your battery staying charged and is it starting okay? Do your other lights work okay? If the answer to these is yes it's most probably a short somewhere instead.

Possibly. :bli

Get yourself a multimeter and check charge rate with engine running should be about 13.5volt ish any thing around 12v you may have a charging issue
