Float Height

Hi Guys I have a Z900A4 is there a float height setting without the special tool or a rough start up setting guide or failing that is the tool available to buy?.

Cheers I have an ultrasonic cleaning kit and have done the jets but looks like i'm going to have to start from the basics thanks for the info, will let you know how i get on.

Dave, the jets are easy to clear, its the passageways in the carbs that cause most of the problems

UMM thought so well looks like this week will be busy at work stripping carbs and cleaning, Should have done it properly first time.

The correct float height for the 26mm carbs on the A4 is 22mm +/- 1mm, turn them upside down and measure from the gaket mating surface to top of float, make sure sure both sides of the float are the same height as well.

Well completly stripped the carbs today and ultrasonic cleaned the carb bodys and jets rebuilt checked float heights, some needed tweeking.
Have just fitted and fired up first time and runs sweet have just balanced the carbs and ticks over nice.
So £90 on a cleaner well worth it.
