Hi all,
I have just bought a set of carbs off e-bay  for z900/1000, got them today, nice and clean etc, this one has a single fuel line and 3 air bleed pipes, as mine has 2 fuel lines, must be from a slightly later z1000? I take it I could rig up a 2 into 1 fuel line, unless its from a vacume model, not sure how to tell, any idea"s,
Andy..

One of the brass spigots will go directly to the engine side of the slide, two others should go to the float chambers. Just blow down then and see where the air goes. Usually it is #3 carb next to the cables that is for vac tap.

Hi,
the 3 brass spigots are on the airbox side and on carb 2,3 &4,none on engine side, the fuel feed in on airbox side between 2 & 3 carb,

Hi,
here are the carbs I purchase, they are very similar to my gs1000, and I just checked the GS1000 and it looks like the middle one is for vacume, but its blanked off, prob faulty tap, but the other two are connected by a single pipe to each other, dont know if thats good or bad,

I reckon carbs. 2&4 should be vented to atmosphere individually, carb.3 vacuum take off to fuel tap or block off if no vacuum tap. As far as I'm aware it's okay to use a two into one fuel line set up but it might depend on the tap you're using, if it's a high flow Pingel or similar there would be no problem and would probably be ok with a standard tap.

Hi ALL,
sounds about right, only problem now is 3 of the pilot screws tops have broke off, and are suck inside, I"m not having any luck, and to be honest I"m abit peed off at mo, I checked a website to see if anybody can repair this, a site I found says if pilot screws broke, they wont touch it, it would apear to be a fairly common problem, but unless you can get the bits out your stuffed, anybody know any different,

Andy whereabouts are you in Southampton, maybe I could take a look for you, I have managed to get broken ones out before on two occasions but it's not easy, I'm willing to pop over and give an opinion if you want.

Two of those spigots are vent pipes one is a vacuum feed. It is number three that is the vacuum feed. block this one off and use vent tubes for the other two.

They can be converted to duel feed by using the T pipes off an older set and blocking the centre one off. I just left the centre pipe in place, shortened it and blocked the end with a bolt.

However I am still tryng to get the 28mm carbs to work properly, sorted the 26's and now believe I have a solution for the 28's
