Hello Zed1015, sorry I was not trying to disagree or criticise your very valid post, we get lots of calls on this very subject and I just thought the calculations I had prevously jotted down may be useful if posted here.

Steve I assume that you are taking rear wheel wear into account and for best performance changing your tyre when it has 2mm of wear.

I would of course be willing to recycle these unwanted tyres for a small fee. Please be assured that they would be disposed of properly :lol: :lol:

Personally I just use one of the many gearing calculators that can be found on the net, they have superceded the Renolds one I bought Motor Cycling Monthly for in 1978 :shock:
