Hmmm, well thanks guys i have a rev counter from the kart racing years which clips onto the HT lead so i'll check out the revs and ask our Gertie to clock me in the car, might not prove anything but it's a good excuse for a ride out.

Had the speedo calibrated last weekend courtesy of the humberside police, lovely chaps. So now i know 62mph on my clock is actally 74mph on their big bright yellow calibration device, doh! Charged me sixty quid for the service too, a bit steep i thought but i think they chuck in 3 nectar points so that'll be nice.

I wonder if it's worth explaining to the the filth that you were indicating 62mph and believed this to be factual and that they are welcome to test your bike to confirm this. It's got to be worth a punt. Their fucking points never make prizes. I would certainly give it a go, being a classic bike and us all being old farts now, they have to give us some cred, just borrow a nice anorak when you go down the pig shop.
