This is where iam so far new batt and the bike still won't start and the ends of the coil cores that you bolt down are getting real hot. The fact they have Wat YONG ELECTRICAL written on them does not inspire me with confidence.

Fitted new plugs and the bike fired up with ease. Done the reg/rec checks and the no power check between black and brown gave 1020ohms then fired bike up and the black and blue, pink and green gave no reading at all but the probes on mymeter are quite short so was having a fight to get them to the plug crimps. So not 100% confident on that test.
But I still think it's buggered.

What do you guys reckon?

What did the old plugs look like ? Are you thinking you are getting a weak spark which is sooting up the plugs enough to block them ? I'm guessing the carbs are all good.

My suspecion is that the reg is cooking up the coils and in turn damaging the plugs all 4 as they were giving hardly any spark and they were discharging down the side of the electrode. And yes they wre quite black.

All plugs are is a means to discharge the hv from the coiils, you say spark is down side of plug,do you mean it is jumping from the threaded portion to the centre core? if so you have the pos and neg crossed on the coils ,spark should jump from centre core to tip.

No spark is jumping from core to side of electrode rather than straight down. When i put the new plugs in this corrected the situation hence i think the reg may have damaged the chinese coils hence the over heating, and in turn been burning out the plugs.
