Yes! the reamer is 7mm for all z900 to 1100 engines.
The hone is to achieve the correct bore clearance (if needed due to a worn or inaccurate reamer etc) remove any burrs and to give a cross hatched finish to aid oil retention etc.
A couple of passes with the hone is usually enough to clean up the bores and get the required finish.

It will be a new reamer, bought specially for the job, so should last for doing the 8 guides?

The only 7.0 mm guide hones I can find are all in the USA and as it will only be used the once don't want to unnecessarily add to the costs.

The reason I was questing about the reamer size is because the only data I have with regards to the guide bore is 7.00 mm, however, that is for the original phosphors bronze guides. For the Z1000 onwards they changed to the cast iron guides for which I have no data but there info around that indicates that cast iron guides require a higher clearance?
