I think DavidZ1R is right. Try calling DVLA to get a replacement V5 first. You've got the name and address of last registered owner and the VIN. Should work

Amazing! I bet the company who are contracted to do all these government IT contacts are pissing themselves. 100s of Millions and their web sites are the worst sites I've ever had to spend (a lot of unnessasary) time on. If they really can't find a vehicle by the VIN then the crooks would have a field day.

if the police can find vehicles with just the chassis number then i am sure the dvla can but they couldn't be bothered as they wouldn't make any money

It's a GPz1100B2 from the chassis number

Good luck with the registration.

Reg number

#22 PostAuthor: relisysxx » Fri Oct 31, 2014 8:54 pm

I had the same problem, I bought my Z1b (import) in a auction with no reg number so I applied for a V5 using the chassis number only for it to come back 'no record' which left me in a bit of a dilemma as I was pretty sure it had a number because it had a tax disc holder on the fork leg so I resent the application for a V5 and guess what! ........Yep, it came back as 'no record' :grr, bigger dilemma now!!
Anyway to cut a long story short I heard of someone who could do a HPI check using the chassis number so I risked 23 quid and e'mailed the number to him.
A couple of hours later I received an e'mail back with the reg number...RESULT!!
So, I put the number into the DVLA 'vehicle check' website and there it is, as plain as day, shows they don't look very hard.
If anyone is in the same boat try yodi@blueyonder.co.uk

Like I've said MANY times....

Anything with "Agency", "Department of" or "Council" in the title is full of unionised, over protected, over staffed, over paid, under worked, uninterested, clueless fuckers !!!

I challenge ANYONE to prove me wrong!!!

Came back as 'No trace', which suggests to me that the vehicle has never been UK registered or the frame No. is not right for that bike.
