weak spark

This is awesome I was going to invest in some dynas for my thousand RX coz I thought the spark wasn't very good so I bought those fancy expensive plugs you know like you do, but the spark was only a little better so still pathetic but hang on, so was my XT500 but that was on a six volt kick system but it always started! It's when I think about it, are both coils going to fail at the same time??? no way unless you bugger them with an excessive supply voltage then they expand and get growths on them ho ho, there's no moving parts in them so as long as you keep to the rules points coils for points and electronic ign coils for cdi's, there are things that don't help like crap connections yes as the thread says if everythings ok this system should work, I rigged a coil tester up using an old light switch hooked up to 12v dc and yep big fat spark! so why didn't my RX? I changed and tried allsorts like Ste has, at the time last year as said on here previous they don't like to run on rusty petrol!!! All sorted this year and yep all original 1988 components apart from upjetted carbs K&N's and virtually straight thru stainless tails and with the not very good spark she starts with choke and once warm settles down to a steady tickover of 1000rpm and revs very cleanly through the range, what a good puppy, I'm dead pleased with it.
