Yes, but the exhaust / rear foot peg hangers for the rear of the frame would need to be modified to bolt the silencers onto.

There is a guy who's in the process of selling ready made
'conversion' hangers on eBay soon
to weld straight on to z1000 A1/A2 frames, after cutting / grinding off the hangers of the z1000.
He had a jig made professionally by a welder
who has done welding work for Ferrari and Roll Royce.
Here is an interesting video of said welder modifying
a z1000 frame to carry a set of 4 to 4 pipes...
http://youtu.be/Dd9cul2gAow?t=2m5s

Having said that, there are plenty of qualified gentlemen
on the Z1OC forum, or indeed Z1OC member's that would
be happy to give advice with any frame modifications.
(Engine mods. too of course).

I'm badging mine to look like a Z1-B, it's a z1000 LTD B2 !! :rir

I won't be the first and certainly not the last to make my
Zed appeal to my own preference's, I think Norkie was
just curious about the possibilities regarding the exhausts
as he is yet to buy his own Zed.
He may be working out where to divide the budget for his Zed?

Yes, curiosity is the reason for asking.

One of the appeals of the Zed is the four exhaust downpipes and silencers :P

If a Z1000 came along at the right price, it may be worth considering the fitment of 4 into 4 to satisfy the need for the 'look' of the Z1?

I've not studied the spec of the 1000 compared to the 900, dimensions I mean, but if the two models are very similar, it may be a halfway house perhaps?
2 cylinders is good, but 4 is much, much better!

At the end of the day, what I really want is a Z1 900cc four pot beauty :)

I had one years ago, nearly had my hands on another about 5 years ago, and I want one now :??

Perhaps I'm just sentimental, I've had some lovely bikes over the years, not to everybody's taste, but riding is the main thing isn't it? :??

I'll keep looking, when she's ready, she'll come to me
