or it could be a dodgy starter motor (worn brushes, commutator insulators filled with crap, windings breaking down)taking all the power from the ignition.

Cheers Chaps,thanks for all your suggestions I will have a good go round it tomorrow.My battery is fairly new and I have already checked my starter and its fine,will have a look at the kill switch wiring.If I need too renew my electronic ignition whats a recommended make and who's a good supplier.......

Go for a DYNA ignition as they are effective and reliable.
Either Jeff Saunders at Z1 ENTERPRISES or Steve at DEBBENS will be able to suply you with what you need.

Anthony.... I got a Boyer system, just taken off me bike, working fine if you're interested. This system does away with the advance weights (less mechanical things to stick/break) and is all controlled by solid state electrix!

Hey Antony, sounds to me like Pigford dosen't trust you .. bring cash no cheques!!! i bet pigford is a hard ass sales man so be prepared to haggle and dig the heels in if you have to. :o :biggrin:
