The clutch on my 955i sounds like it's similar in design.

On the Triumph it's possible to fit the clutch cover with the operating arm in the wrong position. It looks correct, but when you operate the clutch lever it doesn't disengage the clutch.

Sounds very similar to your problem so might be worth a second look ?

Looked at that crofty, shaft drive rotates ok, took swing arm off took the shaft drive shaft out bearing turns smoothly no snatching or anything.

Good Mikey, glad its decided to start working (a bit), last thoughts are wonder if the basket dried out, no oil to let plates slide plus a bit of wear on the fingers making the whole lot jam up. If so it should loosen up a bit with use, but really baffling. Tried to find an emoticon with a head scratch, but can't.

Was just reading an article and it mentioned clutches sticking with certain types of oil, was that changed Mikey?

There a minor modification thats done on the 1100 baskets that allows much smoother gear changes, etc....... Its on "oldskoolperformance" site somewhere, to name but one - maybe worth checking out :?:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
