z1000 sprockets, what size?

#1 PostAuthor: gordon62 » Tue Aug 18, 2009 12:14 pm

Hi all,
I was just wondering what size front and rear sprockets you guys run on, I have a 35 teeth rear, dont know front yet, I feel the bike revs could be abit lower than it is at mo when cruising,
Andy

Running 17 - 33 at the mo. 80 mph at 4500 rpm.Good for everday riding and still pulls like a train in top. Was running 17 - 36 which was good for a fast buzzy ride in the twisties but was always going for another gear in top.

I think standard Z900 is 15T/35 with an option of 33 and Z1000 was the same although the rear might have been the other way round. I'm often thinking of trying a 33 on the rear of mine as I tend to look for an extra gear a lot, but I wonder if it might seem a little flat if I do.

Hi all,
this is what I found myself doing, looking for another gear, it appeared that 33 teeth is standard and 35 option, so I may put a 33 one on at some time in future,
Andy..
