Quickie here guys.
Looking for someone with a 650 to have a quick shufty and verify something for me.
While topping up the oil today I noticed a loose lower rear engine mount nut, (the one on the long bolt which runs from behind clutch cable case to right hand engine), so nipped it up, as you'd expect, I the had a quick check of the others for peace of mind.
Found all four of the front, upper and lower, weren't 'fully' tightened in, now they were tight and nothing was going anywhere as the bolts thread into locking nuts, they just weren't tight up against the drilled casting on the engine block.
Could someone verify for me that they should indeed have the locknuts tight against the casing where they slot into the channel? (i'll post pics tomorrow if this description is a bit unclear)
The top left one stripped on tightening, have retapped and set with threadlock for now but will be replacing that one hopefully this weekend.
Cheers
Mike

That has got to be wrong as any gap there would be not good, but my 650 a B does not have short bolts like yours.
All the ones I have seen have bolts that go all the way through from side to side.
have a look at te kawsaki exploded diags to find out what you should have for your model.

If you need new bolts try phil denton engineering his stainless ones will be better and probably cheaper than standard ones.
Hope this helps

Thanks the both of you.
Have a straight through on the rear and if memory serves my Z750 chop was like this one.
I thought that was the case, just need to get replacements for the pictured one and the same side lower, (possibly paranoia on my part but when I tried to tighten the bolt appeared to turn but the threaded bar underneath didn't look to be imitating it, this behaviour has never been good in my previous experience).
Anyone happen to know where I can get reasonable priced replacements or have any originals laying around, (never had to buy mounting bolts for anything before but they don't need to be special high tensile or anything do they? i.e. if I need bolts from my local hardware store will suffice)
Re the link, thanks for that, would love to be able to check out the frame and mountings but it requires a log in, the link shows login expired and root page has login but no means of registration?
Cheers,

Thanks, have checked the diagram, little confusing, looks like one long bolt lower and two long bolts upper? Not sure if that should be just one or two short ones as it has, will check the measurements as per the page when I get a minute.
Have e-mailed PhilDenton for prices too, thanks for the help.
