Hi 1 - MrP's right - as ever

All the early Zeds achieved their errr...errrr.... 'unique' colours by spraying a tinted lacquer or candy over a silver metallic basecoat.
The tone and intensity of the colour was dictated by number of coats applied/evenness of spraying/mood of the sprayer on the day your bike was painted.
You can't really replicate the complexity of the factory colour with a conventional 'solid colour' paint. You need to work with a sprayer who knows candy painting. Get hold of an original side panel or ducktail and use that as colour reference.
Search this site on 'paintwork' and you'll see who the recommended sprayers are.

Hi On my tank where the badges were was the best place to get a good paint match.
If i remember correctly we found a Subaru green colour and then tinted it from there and got a good match (Z900A4).

but if you go along to you local Auto paint suppliers and just go through the colour swatches and see if you can get a good match.

But from reading various articles not even kawasaki could get a constant paint match.

Also 1 tank i have, the decals are about 50mm off centre to the fuel filler neck from the factory, when i get time i will post a picture
