burning oil
Hi, slight problem wiht the Z although the bike has had new pistons it seems to be burning oil.how much would it be for the oil seals to the valves be or is it not as easy as that.

Valve stem oil seals themselves aren't that expensive but you need a head gasket, rocker cover gasket etc. and you should check all your cam chain wheels and replace the wee rubbers as well they're probably bakelite. If you're doing the work yourself you're looking at about £80 worth of bits assuming nothing else is shot.
It´s done about a 800 miles within a month. The rebuild is recent about six weeks. The oil was changed twice with semi 10/40. It seems to be using half a litre per 100 miles. The other strange thing it did was to burst the tacho seal and send oil up to the clock spewing oil over the handlebars, tank and me.
