carb needle clip position Z1A

Just put a keyster kit in me carbs, whats the standard clip position for the z1A needles in the slides, The ones i took out were on the second one down from the top so i put the new ones in the same position. Book says 3rd but is it from the top or the bottom.
runs fine except when pulling away from a junction etc, it almost feels like its going onto 3. just seems a bit fluffy.Once on the move its fine. its got new plugs and everything else is new, dyna ignition etc. Not had chance to have a proper run out yet,
but will before weekend when im off to stoke to the triumph owners rally, should win best jap as me mates gs850 usually wins.

Manual is correct, 3rd down from top which is the middle one..

Did you change the jet needle too? Should be done as a matched set.

Yes , changed the jet needle, did the whole lot, Got the kits from NRP, maybe i should move the clip down one then as its on 2nd from top.
