Is anyone familiar with Villiers engines, as I have one, and need to know what it is before I sell it.. The engine no don't match up with anything I can find..

any ideas ?

Baza, my guess, and it's only a guess is that it might be from a James. They used a lot of different Villiers engines in their bikes.
ps, is that a perspex ignition cover ? If so, the engine must be from the first ever streetfighter. :lol:

Villiers 2 strokes went in numerous bikes, lawn mowers....etc, back in their Hey Day :twisted:

If it weren't for the H***a Cub (C90) :roll:

could have been the most popular engine ever :!:

Coz it was so widely used, may have trouble pin-pointing its original home

If its a 175, nice early Bantam upgrade :??

Looks like a H series 225cc unit to me. Used in James and excelsior I think

Villiers engines were tuneable as fuck and were used in karts and scramblers for years, and even for road racing - the Greeves Starmakers in Silverstones were basically the same bottom end as the (race) 9E - you could just plonk the 250 top end straight on. Happy days...

id say its either a 150,or a 175,the 250 had a more rounded head if i remember rightly.that was fitted to a scrambler ,greeves 250,with cantilever forks up front. :wink:

Could be from a Francis Barnett ? most had Villiers engines.

Update on this,... its a go cart engine,... still don't know what one as the numbers don't add up....., I wondered where the kick start was.
