#1 PostAuthor: mikeyboy1966 » Mon May 18, 2009 8:38 pm

After 3 months finally got the auld Zed fired up. HOWEVER its pissing fuel out of the carbs where the main fuel line goes. Full carb strip on the cards. :( Advice from anyone much appreciated. :?? (z1000 B3 Ltd - been standing for 5 years before I got her!!!)
Cheers

If the fuel is coming from the inlet pipe then it might simply be the pipes knackered from the petcock, or could be the plastic T piece that feeds the carbs.
If it's pissing out of the carb overflows, you're loking at a punctured float, sticking or worn needle valve or incorrectly adjusted float height tang.

I've got a pissing out overflow problem with my Z650, (just discovered yesterday), so will have to remove and strip mine before reassembling with the newly arrived air filter housing to replace the K&N job's

Hi m1ks - sorry been away on business this week and haven't had a chance to say thanks for the advice - carbs strips on the cards this weekend - I suspect floats'll need replacing. Cheers
