Vance and Hines 4-1 and oil change?

#1 PostAuthor: gordon62 » Thu May 14, 2009 11:21 am

Hi all,
just wanted to ask, I gotta do an oil change on my z1000, and it has a Vance and Hines 4-1, it looks pretty close to the oil filter housing, I say 5-10 mm gap, and I wondered if the exhaust is needed to be remove or is there enought clearance for the cover and filter etc,
Andy

It'll clear it, just warm the engine, sit for a few mins to get the oil back in the sump, drain it and drop the housing, you won't have to remove your exhaust system for an oil change.

On my Z1A It clears it just, you will have to pull the bolt all the way out, then the cover will come off sideways and there is enough room to get the filter out, its fiddly but doable!

I slacken off the manifold nuts a few turns - just makes it a tad easier
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
