Which carbs ?

Hi all

I am looking to change the carbs on me z1000a2.

Any suggestions on a suitable replacment without going for the big money cr's and smoothbores.

The motor is standard and I am looking for a set of carbs that will bolt straight on (well, nearly) and run good with the standard 1015 motor.

gsxr / fzr / zx9.....?????

Hi are you looking to change for more power or because yours are faulty. Only asking as I have a set of GS carbs that came fitted to a Z900 that work fine.

The only reason I am thinking of changing is mine are getting a bit old and leaky, also take a lot of setting up due to age.

These gs carbs.....slides ?

What size ?

Bolt straight on ?

I think the A2 carbs were 26mm. An easy upgrade would be the 28mm carbs fitted to the Z1R and some other later big Zeds

Me thinks Padders gs1000 carbs probably 28's as well, trouble is all those type of carbs are still 30 year old and I might jump out of the frying pan straight into the chuffing fire !

The carbs are on the Z900 at the moment will be pulling them off this week and fitting some Z900 ones. I will measure them when they are off the bike. Work fine though.
