i go back to my other thread about DIY idiots, most people think they can fix houses. then i go in to work on them after and i have to repair their mess before i can get on with the task. don't get me wrong irh, i'm certainly NOT saying you cant polish, not at all. its just that the cases i got off Mikey last week are bl;;dy great. its a personal choice, given money and time whether you want to do jobs or not. i spend so much of my time covered in sh;t of one form or other to earn money, i don't want to get covered in sh;t on my free time, i'm good at fixing houses, so i do that and Mikey's good with metal, so he does that, its the wheels of industry, the great big fat wheels of industry :xbo :xbo

Don't take it too much to heart Hillbilly, I am sure the offer was welcomed in the spirit it was offered. As to the other services I am sure most of us will wan to know your experience with them.

You could always write an article for the club magazine, recommending your mate. Or, he could place an ad in the magazine, offering his services.
ps, we don't have over a thousand members.

Please don't be put off offering contacts - as you say everyone doesn't live in the one place and some people would prefer to take parts to be done locally rather than trust hard to replace parts to the post office. The one thing we don't want is for the site to become cliquey. Recommendations for all types of services in all parts of the country is what we want - likewise feedback on not so good service. Club discount is always a good wheeze and anyone who is good enough to offer it should be supported.:more :more :more :more

If everyone in the club all over the country only sent all their stuff to Mikey there'd be a bit of a wait I'd say, even Mikey has to sleep sometime....

What we probably need to do is set up a services section where forum users can recommend businesses or people who have them given good service, report what they had done and maybe marks out of 10. Anyone any thoughts on this?

Now that is an excellent idea, How many times do we have to trawl through the forum to try and find something we read somewhere about this or that, Id say go for it the sooner the better..

Have spoken to Chris about this tonight. He suggested a "rating" system as used by Amazon and the like, which is preferable to slagging companies off, as mick says above.
