z1a carbs overhauling

#1 PostAuthor: lta01 » Wed Apr 08, 2009 8:43 pm

should there be a rubber o ring on each airscew on the z1a model carbs ? There is no groove on the screw, either the original or the keyster replacements.

this may depend on which carbs they are, early z1a's had the same carbs as the z1's, the later z1a's had the same carbs as the z1b's, me thinks.

Ita01, The 28 mm carbs on the Z1, Z1A & Z1B, although, as Mick says, they changed a little during the period, they had no rubber o-rings on the air-screws, they just had the small spring. These are the screws on the side of the carb, that are usually set to about 1-1/4 to 2 turns out.
