Rear brake pads

#1 PostAuthor: tlc » Sun Apr 05, 2009 8:54 pm

I`ve looked on Z Power site but cannot find rear pads for my Thou`.

I bought some from the States on ebay but am suffering poor brake performance and suspect the pad material as I`ve done just about everyhting else that could effect it.

Basically I can only lock the rear by stamping on the pedal and all that effort is ending up overheatin the disc.

Anyone know of a good supplier here in the UK ?

I am only going from memory of the (probably ‘Bike’ magazine) review at the time but…. Strange that on the Z1R I seem to remember one of the criticisms of the brakes was the rear brake locked too readily with only slight pressure.
Other than changing fluid & bleeding the system, I have had no problems.
Maybe it’s a different unit on other models

Incidentally if anyone has a spare March 1978 Bike magazine I could buy?.... Or I would be happy with a scanned copy of the Z1r review.

Anyhow - These guys seem to have parts and I believe have been mentioned on this site as a reliable supplier.

Thanks ZIRTY.

I`ve managed to source some Vesrah locally that will be here by the end of the week.

By the way I have that mag you are looking for but don`t wish to sell. If you are a master with the scanning facilities then I would happily loan you the mag which is really nice nick and has a super shot of the bike as a centrefold.

Will lend only on pain of death though :|
