Hi guys
sorry if stuff like this has been posted before...i checked the first 8 pages in here but found nothing.
anyway. i have a spare paint set that i am getting ready for a new paint job. Paint on the tank was a bit past it - it had been a custom job before so had the holes filled in, primed then re-sprayed.
a large section of paintwork fell off very easily to leave the primer but 80% of the paint aint budging.
Before i go an throw paint stipper all over it...is there a specific brand or maybe even technique i need to use to get a good finished job. All the way back to bare metal i assume is the best preperation?
any advice as always greatly appreciated
andy

paint stripping
''Who's motorcycle is this?''
Andy, I have had stuff vapour blasted its a good way to key the surface and get rid of all the paint. It is not as aggresive as pure grit blasting, so won't be as likely to damage the tank. It needs to be done by someone competent, or else they could also damage the surface.
