Fork identification ?

#1 PostAuthor: sparky650 » Tue Mar 17, 2009 10:36 am

Hello all, ill be needing to replace my fork seals on my z650 but i was told the forks on mine were changed to z750's ? Ive been looking at z750 forks and they dont seem to look like the ones ive got on mine. They look more like GPZ forks ?

Any ideas as to what bike they are from ?
Cheers.

Fork identification

Sparky

the forks look definitly like GPZ because of the anti dive units however I'm not sure that these are 750 because the the type of spindle. I have a set of GPZ750A1 forks and the spindle is not like that one. Perhaps they could be GPZ550.

Cheers mark, all i really need to know is what size fork seals to order and what grade of oil i should use :?? Its a bit baffling , ive got some 43mm fork seals for a z750 cos i was told thats what they were of but as i suspected these are not z750 forks :(

All sorted  i took the bike down to the kwak shop and there nearly 100 % sure they are off a gpz550 although they did say that all the gpz550 forks were originaly black and these do look like they have been polished .

Cheers.

Sparky

According to my genuine Kawasaki manual the GPZ750a1 takes 248.5ml of SAE10W oil. Oil level 185mm (compressed).
If you need any further info I could probably scan the manual and send via e-mail.
