Chrome / Stainless Seat Strip

#1 PostAuthor: MaineKZ » Tue Mar 17, 2009 8:19 pm

Anyone know a supplier of the stainless / chrome strip that was fitted to so many models and makes in the 70's?
I know you can buy extruded plastic stuff but that never looks authentic - I'm really after the correct metal strip, which was usually a hollow profile secured by ali rivets and spring clips

Hi Chris

The only people I can find are these

http://www.coolretrobikes.com/seatrestoration.htm

If you read through their site they do supply DIY kits.

Not sure if this helps you.

All the best
Tim

Chris

This is a long shot these guys sell really useful stuff, they don't list what you want but they may be able to point you in the right direction.

Yes the Z1A is in a container due into the UK on the 11th April - at least it can't get a lot rustier!

Your bike is looking fantastic - you must be really pleased with it.

All the best

Tim
