Does anyone know if the early Z1's were the only Z's to have separate shell bearings for the cam's? I have a head with these, that is supposed to be a Z1000A1 and I am not sure what's what.

Cheers

Tom

I believe all the Zeds ('72-78) have white metal bearing shells.

The later J type heads also run shell bearings for the cams.
I got a new set for Lawson from Z-POWER at a good price if anyone needs new ones.

All the big aircooled zed's right up to the gpz1100 run the same shell type cam bearings and they all use exactly the same shell no matter what year etc.
